Fire Safety Excellence Design Award 2014

The National Fire and Civil Emergency Preparedness Council (NFEC) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) jointly organised the Fire Safety Asia Conference (FiSAC) 2014 this morning. As part of the Conference, a Gala Dinner was held this evening at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

 

The Gala Dinner was graced by Mr Vikram Nair, Member, Government Parliamentary Committee for Home Affairs and Law.

 

The highlight of the Dinner was the presentation of the Fire Safety Design Excellence (FSDE) Award. Launched in 2011, the FSDE Award is given to individuals, organisations or project teams that have incorporated innovative fire safety designs and solutions in building projects in Singapore. The FSDE Award is given out under two categories, (a) Buildings with a total construction cost of more than S$100 million and (b) those buildings with a total construction cost of less than S$100 million.

 

This year, there are 5 finalists for the FSDE Awards, of which 2 projects attained the Excellence Award; and 3 projects attained the Merit Award. The 2 Excellence Award winners are:

  • Woodsville Tunnel (Innovation Winner)
  • Singapore Sports Hub (Design Winner)
