The official opening of the new Basic Rescue Training Centre (BRTC) was held on 20th June 2006. Then Senior Minister of State (Law and Home Affairs) Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee graced the occasion with 150 guests comprising of parents, grassroot leaders, officers from the Home Team Departments and Singapore Civil Defence Force.

NSTI aims to develop young boys into fit and proficient rescuers, equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their duties efficiently and to ensure that our NSmen maintain the level of excellence.
