- An HFAD provides early warning of a fire. It is mandatory for new residential premises and existing residential premises carrying out fire safety works to install HFADs.

We administer the Fire Safety Act and Civil Defence Shelter Act in Singapore. We set, maintain and enforce high standards for fire safety and CD shelters to ensure safe and secure homes and workplaces in Singapore.
