SCDF Operation Lionheart - Japan Earthquake : Update No 2

The SCDF 5-man search team arrived at Tokyo"s Narita Airport on 12 March 2011 at 1710 hrs (Singapore time). The team then departed to Soma City on 13 March 2011 at 1000 hrs and arrived at Soma City, Fukushima at 1530 hrs.

The SCDF team has set-up their operation base at the Soma City Police Station which is located 50 km away from the affected nuclear plants. The team has since been briefed by the local authorities; they are currently awaiting deployment to the designated sites.
