SCDF Operational Standby for National Day Parade on 21 August 2021
19 August 2021

As part of the National Day Parade on 21 August 2021, SCDF will be on standby to provide emergency response coverage for the event. This standby will also see the maiden deployment of SCDF’s latest Command Vehicle.

The operational standby forces will comprise about 440 SCDF officers and 43 emergency vehicles deployed at various locations around the Floating Platform for potential incidents requiring firefighting and rescue, Emergency Medical Services, and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) response.

The Command Vehicle will serve as SCDF’s Mobile Command Post. The platform integrates data from multiple sources to improve situational awareness of SCDF Commanders and enhance their command and control over the resources attending to large-scale and complex incidents. The multiple data sources include video feeds from SCDF responders, vehicles and drones, CCTV footage from Related Agencies and cameras directly overseeing the NDP 2021, as well as operational systems that aid in terrain mapping and simulating scenarios.

The Command Vehicle also features a video wall canvas which streamlines information gathering as well as translates data into visual dashboards for SCDF Commanders to make mission-critical decisions.
