Our People
The SCDF organisation is staffed by Regular officers, full-time National Servicemen and Operationally Ready National Service (ORNS) Men.
The SCDF Specialists
To handle its increased spectrum of challenges associated with saving lives and properties, the SCDF recruits and trains its operational staff to be specialists like the Fire and Rescue Specialist, Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) Specialist, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Specialist, and Paramedic Specialist, to enhance its operational effectiveness.
- The Fire and Rescue Specialist is trained in incident management, fire safety enforcement and fire investigation, and leads a team of fire fighters in fire fighting and rescue operations.
- The DART Specialist is skilled in urban search and rescue, prolonged fire fighting operations, height and confined space operations, road traffic and industrial accidents and water rescue.
- The HazMat Specialist specializes in detection and containment of hazardous chemicals and toxins.
- The Paramedic Specialist is part of the emergency medical service team providing efficient and accurate pre-hospital care to accident victims and patients in critical condition.
With a body of well-trained and well-equipped officers, SCDF will continue in its pursuit for operational excellence, professionalism and quality service in carrying out its mission to protect and save lives and property.
