- An HFAD provides early warning of a fire. It is mandatory for new residential premises and existing residential premises carrying out fire safety works to install HFADs.

Joint Exercise @ Singapore Flyer

On the late evening of 24 July, when most people were turning in for the night, officers from SCDF's Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART), Central Fire Station and Kallang Fire Station arrived at the Singapore Flyer for a joint height rescue exercise with the Singapore Flyer Team. The exercise entailed a simulated rescue from two separate capsules of the Flyer.
