Case of Individual Posing as an SCDF Officer to Procure Items from Companies
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) is aware of fake emails being sent to various companies, signed off by an individual posing as an SCDF officer and trying to masquerade as official emails from SCDF. An example of such a fake email address is “quotation@scdf-gov-sg.com”. All SCDF email accounts end with @scdf.gov.sg.
These emails attempted to procure items from the companies, and were brought to SCDF’s attention. SCDF has lodged a police report, and the Police are investigating into the matter. Companies which have received similar emails should also lodge a police report.
In line with Whole-of-Government procurement procedures, SCDF only publishes invitations for quotations and tenders on GeBiz, the Singapore Government’s e-procurement portal. Companies are required to submit their bids via this portal.
