Hero banner for Water Rescue Incident

This morning at 12.44 am, SCDF was alerted to an incident at Tew Chew Street for a reported case of someone falling into the river.

SCDF immediately dispatched the 1 Fire Engine, 1 Heavy Rescue Tender, 1 Ambulance, 1 Lighting Tender and 4 support vehicles to Tew Chew Street (Clarke Quay) near Swissotel Merchant Court Hotel.

Upon arrival, SCDF commenced search and rescue operations at the location the subject was last seen.

Diving at a depth of about 5 meters, DART rescuers found the body of a male Indian at approximately 2.19 am. The body of the victim was located about 4 metres away from the riverbank.

The victim was pronounced dead by SCDF Paramedics at 2.42 am.
