Vehicle Fire at CTE

SCDF received a call at 1008hrs from a member of public reporting a vehicle on fire at CTE towards City " Before Cairnhill Exit. SCDF dispatched 1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino and1 Fire Bike.

Upon arrival, a taxi on the shoulder of the CTE tunnel (about 50 metres inside the tunnel) was on fire. SCDF extinguished the fire using 3 hose-reel water jets. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes. The driver self-evacuated prior to SCDF arrival. There were no reported injuries as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
