Hero banner for Shophouse Fire At Sultan Gate

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to a fire incident at Sultan Gate on 16 Dec 06 at 2144hrs. Two fire engines, one Light Fire Attack Vehicle (Red Rhino), two fire bikes, one ambulance and three support vehicles from the Central Fire Station were deployed to the incident site.

The emergency appliances arrived at the scene within five minutes of activation and the fire-fighters found the premise " four pre-war shophouses: Nos 37, 39, 41 and 43 " fully engulfed in flames. The fire was burning through the tiled roof of the shophouses.

SCDF personnel surrounded the burning premise with four handheld jets and the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.

There was no casualty involved in the incident.
