Sentosa Fire Station Commences Operations
The Singapore Civil Defence Force"s (SCDF) 21st fire station, Sentosa Fire Station, has commenced operations at 8am this morning. Itis located at 37 Artillery Avenue, Sentosa Fire Station is strategically placed to provide emergency services within the popular resort island of Sentosa as well as its immediate vicinity such as the HarbourFront and Telok Blangah areas.
The fire station has a fleet of 5 emergency vehicles comprising 2 fire engines, 1 fire bike, 1 ambulance and 1 aerial firefighting and rescue support vehicle (also known as the combined platform ladder).
Since 2008, the SCDF has been providing emergency services on the resort island through the Sentosa Fire Post which housed 1 Red Rhino and 1 fire bike. With the commencement of Sentosa Fire Station, the fire post will cease to operate.
In view of this latest infrastructural development, SCDF emergency services is provided round the clock through an island-wide network of 21 fire stations and 28 fire posts.
