Hero banner for Sand Dumper Truck overturned with driver trapped

At 1738 hrs, SCDF received a call informing an incident involving a sand dumper truck that had overturned with the driver (male / Chinese / 50 yrs old) trapped, at the Pan United Construction worksite near Jalan Bahar Flyover. SCDF deployed 1Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 1 Rescue Tender, 1 DART (HRT) and 1 Ambulance.

SCDF rescuers arrived at scene within 7 minutes. The dumper truck was found overturned with the driver trapped with his both legs pinned under the collapsed dashboard at the cabin which was badly smashed against the ground.

SCDF rescuers used a hydraulic ramp and a spreader cutter to release the trapped driver. A bulldozer from the worksite was also used to stabilize the truck to facilitate the rescue operation.

The driver was conscious but had a fracture at his lower left limb and had sustained abdominal injury. He was conveyed to NUH by SCDF ambulance.
