SCDF retrieves drowned victim at Lower Seletar Reservoir (Along Yishun Avenue 1)

This morning, at 1106hrs, SCDF was alerted to an incident at Lower Seletar Reservoir (along Yishun Avenue 1, opposite Yishun Stadium) for a reported case of drowning.

SCDF immediately dispatched 1 fire engine, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Amphibious Vehicles, 1 ambulance, and 1 support vehicle to the incident location. SCDF personnel swiftly arrived at location in 5 minutes. Upon arrival, SCDF rescuers conducted coastal searches. Members of the SCDF Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) also conducted water surface searches using the 2 Amphibious Vehicles. 2 DART rescuers were also deployed to conduct point diving in the waters near the area where the victim was last seen.

After slightly over an hour, SCDF DART rescuers retrieved the body of a male, Chinese subject in the waters approximately 10 meters from the coast. SCDF paramedics pronounced the subject dead at scene at 1245hrs.
