SCDF Operational Exercise at Espanade

SCDF will be conducting a ground deployment exercise at the Esplanade on Friday, 30 October 2009. The exercise will begin at 1am and end at about 3am.

Such exercises are part of SCDF"s on-going efforts to validate and update operational plans, procedures and test information flow between SCDF"s HQ elements and its supporting ground units. Related agencies such as SPF will also be involved in the exercise.

All SCDF vehicles participating in this exercise will have their beacon lights turned on to alert motorists. Exercise signages will also be placed at prominent locations at the Esplanade to keep members of public duly informed of the exercise. To facilitate the movement and deployment of our emergency vehicles for the exercise, the following roads, Esplanade Drive between Raffles Avenue and Fullerton Road, will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 1am till the end of the exercise.

Note: SPF will be sending out an advisory on the road closures.

The public is advised not to be alarmed. Members of public may contact SCDF at 1800 280 0000 for enquiries.
