Road Traffic Accident between Car and Excavator along Changi South Ave 1

At 0306 hrs, SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident involving a saloon car that had collided into an excavator along Changi South Road 1, near The Singapore Expo.

As a result of the collision, the car driver was trapped at the driver seat. 2 Fire Engines, 1 Ambulance, and 3 Support Vehicles were immediately dispatched. Upon arrival, SCDF found a 35 year-old male Chinese trapped in the driver seat of the car. He was conscious upon SCDF"s arrival.

The car"s floorboard caved into the driver"s cabin space, trapping the driver. SCDF used hydraulic rams and hydraulic spreader and cutter to free the casualty from the wreckage. He suffered multiple fractures and was conveyed to Changi General Hospital for treatment.
