Operational Exercise at Woodlands Train Checkpoint

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) will be conducting an operational exercise at Woodlands Train Checkpoint, 11 Woodlands Crossing on Tuesday, 8 January 2013. The exercise will begin at 11.30pm on 8 January 2013 and end at about 3.00am on 9 January 2013.

Such exercises are part of the various agencies on-going efforts to validate and update operational plans and procedures. In total, about 145 personnel and about 27 emergency and supporting vehicles will be participating in the exercise.

Train services and checkpoint functions will not be affected by the exercise. All operational vehicles participating in the exercise will have their beacon lights turned on to alert motorists. Exercise signages will also be placed at prominent locations to keep members of public informed of the exercise.

The public is advised not to be alarmed.
