Notice of SCDF Operational Exercise at Singapore Sports Hub
SCDF was alerted to the fire at about 3am. Upon SCDF"s arrival, the fire was raging and had engulfed the entire house, with the fire penetrating through the roof. Firefighters used 4 water jets to penetrate the burning house including conducting search and rescue operations within the house. 2 additional water jets were simultaneously deployed to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent units.6 occupants had self-evacuated prior to SCDF"s arrival. SCDF aided 2 occupants, which included an elderly man, out of the burning house.The fire was brought under control within hour and fully extinguished at about 4:30am.5 casualties were conveyed to hospital (details appended below). 1 firefighter was also conveyed to hospital for heat exhaustion.Firefighters found 2 bodies on the second floor of the house.The cause of the fire is under investigation.Details of persons conveyed to hospital:" 2 Elderly Male, Chinese, conveyed to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for smoke inhalation" 1 Child, Chinese, conveyed to SGH for smoke inhalation" 2 Females conveyed to SGH for smoke inhalation" 1 Firefighter conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for heat exhaustion
