Fires at Woodlands St 81

At 0352hrs, SCDF was alerted to a case of discarded items including a sofa on fire at the ground floor of Block 810, Woodlands Street 81. A red rhino was dispatched and the fire was put out quickly using a dry powder extinguisher.

At 0403hrs, SCDF was alerted to another 2 points of fire at the carpark behind Block 802, Woodlands Street 81. 1 fire engine and 1 red rhino were dispatched to the scene. At Block 802, a container outside the rubbish collection centre was found to be on fire. The fire was extinguished quickly using water jets. Just about 30 metres away at the open carpark of this block, 2 motorbikes were also found to be on fire. The fire was extinguished using water jets.

SCDF investigations are in progress. Preliminary investigations have not ruled out the possibility of incendiarism as the cause of these 3 fires.
