Fire involving scrap paper at Pandan Road

At 1534 hrs, SCDF was alerted to a fire involving scrap paper at the Open area at 56, Pandan Road.

SCDF resources which include 2 Fire Engines, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Firebikes, 1 Ambulance and 3 Support Vehicles were immediately despatched.

Upon arrival, SCDF officers found the fire to involve scrap paper stacked to about 3 storeys high at the open area of the company dealing with recycled paper processing. SCDF firefighters immediately set up water jets and the fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. No one was injured in the incident.

Firefighters are remaining at scene to ensure that all embers of the deep seated fire are completely extinguished.

The remaining scrap paper that was not on fire was removed by the company using a fork lift.
