Fire involving contents of a storeroom

SCDF received several calls from members of public informing of a fire at People"s Park Complex at 1533hrs. 2 Fire Engines, 2 Red Rhinos, 3 Supporting Vehicles and 1 Ambulance were dispatched immediately to the location. Upon arrival, fire was found raging from a section of the 5th storey of the building. SCDF firefighters immediately set up water jets to penetrate into the affected area.


The fire involved contents of a storeroom of area measuring approximately 15 m x 8 m. The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes. The shopping mall area was evacuated by the building management. Nobody was injured in this incident.


The fire was confined to the storage area which sustained extensive damage. The residential block above the shopping mall area was unaffected by the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
