This afternoon at around 3.28pm, SCDF was alerted to a fire at a unit located on the 5th floor of Blk 53 Marine Terrace.

SCDF responded within 3 minutes to Blk 53, Marine Terrace, #05-241. 1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 1 Support Vehicle, and 2 Ambulances were deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival, SCDF officers conducted forcible entry into the affected unit. A Chinese man in his 40s was found in the living room, and was rescued by SCDF officers from the unit. He suffered burn injuries and was subsequently conveyed to Singapore General Hospital in an SCDF ambulance.

When SCDF officers entered the unit, they found the contents of the bedroom on fire, which was extinguished swiftly.

A Chinese lady in her 60s, from a neighbouring unit, also complained of shortness of breath. She was conveyed to Changi General Hospital in a second SCDF ambulance.
The cause of fire is currently under investigations.
