Fire at Blk 161 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, 3rd Floor

At 1843hrs, SCDF was alerted to a fire at a HDB unit at Blk 161 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh. Upon receiving the notification, 1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Fire Bikes, 1 Ambulance and 1 Support Vehicle were dispatched.

Upon arrival, a unit on the 3rd floor of the Blk was on fire. SCDF fire-fighters quickly deployed 2 water jets. The fire was confined within the unit and was extinguished within 10 minutes. As a safety precaution, residents from the 3rd to 6th floor of the block were evacuated. At the time of this report, there were no reports of anyone being injured. The cause of fire is under investigation.
