Fire at Blk 150A Bishan Street 11

At 0526 hrs, SCDF was alerted to a fire at the ground floor of Blk 150A, Bishan Street 11. Upon receiving the notification, 1 Fire Engine, 2 Red Rhinos, 3 Ambulances and 3 Supporting Vehicles were dispatched.

Upon arrival, a section of a provision shop measuring about 7 metres by 3 metres was on fire. There was no one in the shop. SCDF fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus equipment immediately deployed 2 water jets. The fire was fully extinguished within 20 minutes. The fire involved the contents of the shop.

Approximately 50 residents from the block self-evacuated prior to SCDF"s arrival. The cause of fire is under investigation.

A total of 7 persons were conveyed to SGH via SCDF ambulances due to minor smoke inhalation. The detailed breakdown of those conveyed is as follow:-

1) Female/Chinese/about 3 years old

2) Female/Chinese/30s

3) Female/Chinese/40s

4) Female/Chinese/60s

5) Female/Chinese/70s

6) Male/Chinese/about 6 years old

7) Male/Chinese/30s
