Fire at 7th floor unit at 69 Hume Ave
SCDF was alerted to a fire at the above-mentioned location around 5:35 am. SCDF dispatched 1Fire Engines, 1 Red Rhino, 2 support vehicles, 5 ambulances and arrived at the incident site within 8 minutes.
3 occupants had made their way out of the unit prior to the SCDF"s arrival.
Fire involved the contents of the living room. SCDF firefighters rescued 7 occupants from bedrooms within the unit and brought them to safety. Firefighters extinguished the fire using two water jets.
The following occupants were sent to hospital:
a) An elderly man and woman were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for burn injuries. b) 3 adults and 2 children were conveyed to National University Hospital (NUH) for smoke inhalation. c) 2 adults were conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) for smoke inhalation.
