Fire at 3 Engineering Drive 3, National University of Singapore

SCDF was alerted to a case of fire at 3 Engineering Drive 3 at 2213hrs on 4 April 2014. SCDF resources were immediately dispatched to the incident site. Upon the arrival of SCDF resources, a laboratory at level 6 of Blk E4A was engulfed in flames.

 

The fire involved the contents of the laboratory. Donning breathing apparatus sets, SCDF fire fighters extinguished the fire within one and half hours using 5 water jets. Fire was contained within the laboratory.

 

Two students of the affected laboratory self evacuated prior to the arrival of SCDF. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
