Fire Safety Advisory

For the period January to April 2017, there were 1,275 cases of fires in Singapore. It is a 15% decrease from the 1,502 cases within the same period in 2016. Notwithstanding the decreasing number of fires during this period, the SCDF would like to remind members of the public to exercise caution and keep in mind some simple fire safety tips that can help prevent fires.

With the popularity of electric bicycles, personal mobility devices[1] and power banks in Singapore in recent years, SCDF would also like to remind members of public on the prevention of battery fires.

Members of the public who spot fire hazards are encouraged to report them to the SCDF. In addition, the public can also submit photographs and a brief description of the fire hazards using the "mySCDF" mobile phone application (under e-Services, Fire Safety Feedback) which can be downloaded from the Apple and Android App stores.

Fire safety is our collective responsibility and together we can help to reduce fire occurrences in Singapore.
