SCDF was alerted at about 1:40am.

Upon arrival within 5 minutes, thick black smoke was coming out of the unit. SCDF

fire fighters entered the unit with two water jets. The fire was located in the centre of the unit and was extinguished within 30 minutes.

While conducting search of the unit, the fire fighters found 3 persons unconsciousness in one of the rooms. They were immediately brought out of the unit and CPR was performed on them by SCDF Paramedics. All three were later pronounced dead at scene by the paramedics.

SCDF also conveyed 7 other occupants of the unit to Tan Tock Seng and Singapore General Hospital. The cause of fire is under investigation.
