Chemical Spillage

At 1421 hrs, SCDF Control Room received a call informing of a chemical spillage at the Junction of Macpherson Road and Genting Lane. SCDF resources which included 1 Fire engine, 1 Red Rhino and 3 Support Appliances were dispatched and arrived within 6 minutes.

On arrival, the crew reported that the chemical spillage affected an area about 3m by 3m.The chemical spilled is a proprietary chemical substance produced by the chemical company and SCDF mitigated the spillage with absorbents and packed them in an over pack drum. The affected area was also flushed with water and biosolvent subsequently. Nobody was injured in the incident.
