SCDF’s Response to Media Queries on the Charging of SCDF Officers in Relation to the Death of NSF CPL Kok Yuen Chin
25 July 2018

In response to media queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirms that eight SCDF officers have been referred by the Singapore Police Force to SCDF for departmental investigation. Six of them are regular officers and two are Full-Time National Servicemen (NSFs). If investigations find that they had contravened SCDF rules and regulations, the regular officers will face public service disciplinary actions, which may include dismissal from service or demotion in rank, while the NSFs will be liable for detention and/or demotion in rank under the Civil Defence Act.

SCDF takes a zero-tolerance stance towards ragging. We will take firm action against any officer found to be involved in such activities.
