KidZania, is an edutainment centre where children aged four and above can role-play as pilots, firefighters, pizza chefs, police officers and others. Through the realistic role-playing, they learn about the different careers, the inner-workings of a city and the concept of managing money in the form of “KidZos”- a Kidzania currency.
Located at Sentosa, KidZania Singapore was officially opened on Tuesday, 12 April 2016.
At KidZania Singapore, children will be able to role-play as firefighters at a fire station. They will be taught by “Zupervisors” who will explain to them the possible causes of fire and the appropriate actions to take during an outbreak of fire. As part of their training, the children will also get hands-on opportunity to operate a “water jet”.
After completing their training, the “firefighters” will be called upon to respond to a fire at a “hotel”. They will be transported by a fire engine to the fire scene where they will have to use their newly acquired firefighting knowledge and skills to put out the fire. Through role-playing as a firefighter, children will be able to gain basic fire safety knowledge and get a glimpse on how firefighters operate.
