I am grateful that they stopped by and rendered help to those who were involved in the accident. On top of that, they even re-directed the traffic prior to the arrival of the Traffic Police. They were very helpful as they aided the elderly couple who were shocked by the accident.

I hope their efforts will not go unrewarded and please thank them on my behalf.

This is a day my wife and I will never forget as our son (7 weeks-old) choked himself and nearly lost his life. Without your instructions to my wife, it would have been a different outcome that day.

We are humbled by your kindness and effectiveness and this story shall be told to my son.

A big thank you for hosting the HT Volunteers for the visit to the Central Fire Station. Your team of officers, particularly Eugene, Sim, Benjamin and Justin, have been most helpful in facilitating the visit. We are also thankful for the officers who helped out with the visit after their work shift.

The volunteers shared that they enjoyed the visit very much, and have gained a greater understanding of SCDF’s work and operations. The hands-on activities in the EPC were also popular amongst the attendees.

Through these learning journeys to HT establishments, we hope to expose our volunteers to the work of the wider-HT, gain better appreciation of what our officers do and spur them to continue volunteering with us.

We look forward to future opportunities to partner SCDF to organise such visits.

To: LCP Iskandar (NSF) (Bukit Batok Fire Station)

I would like to thank Mr Iskandar from Bukit Batok Station 44 for helping my whole family today.

I accidentally dropped my house key into a deep drain at Petir Road. My 4 kids were with me and I had nowhere to go. I saw a SCDF branch nearby and was so happy that Iskandar volunteered to help out. He jumped into the drain and got quite dirty, to help me get out the keys.

He was all smiles all the way. I really admire his spirit of helping out civilians.

Thank you SCDF too!

I was deeply impressed by one of your staff, SGT Md Azali Bin Hussin from CED. He was able to answer all my queries clearly and promptly over the last few days. The direction he gave was certainly valuable.

I was genuinely surprised, as well as thankful, for his knowledge and guidance. It is very clear to me that he takes pride in his work and makes it a point to practice a “No Wrong Door” policy. I felt he was certainly functioning and performing above his job grade as a SGT.

My colleagues and I were greeted by Mr Segar, our tour guide. He showed us around the Gallery where he explained to us the history of the Fire Brigade. Upon showing us the fire engines, he pointed out the function of each piece of equipment and detailed how they have evolved over the years. He recounted a few of his personal experiences as both ex-Chief Trainer of the K9 Rescue and DART Teams. This lent a human touch to our time there.

We also got to visit the Emergency Preparedness Centre, where Justin took us through each simulated crisis and comprehensively explained to us how we should handle each scenario. Together with the interactive displays, we tried using a fire extinguisher and performing CPR. We were impressed by the 4D interactive experience.

MAJ Koh Swee Lian and the Receptionists (Fire Safety & Shelter Department)

I would like to express my gratitude and share that I am immensely impressed with the efficiency of the department.

Both my visits for consultation of fire safety and presentation of floor plan were attended by MAJ Koh Swee Lian. I am clueless of the requirements in setting up child care hence, she patiently explained to me in layman terms and that enabled me to understand the logic and rationale and be able to work with my contractor to address the concerns.

She also educated us on some of the misconception related to the fire safety code i.e. safety distance to exit.

The receptionists were also helpful and friendly making the entire experience more pleasant and welcoming.

Keep up the good work. Bravo !

I was on a feeder bus when a wheelchair uncle boarded the bus. 4 stops later the wheelchair uncle decided to alight. The bus driver brought down the lever for the uncle to alight however he overlooked that the back door was near a muddy grass patch and this resulted in the wheelchair uncle toppling over and half of his body was covered in mud.

The lady in uniform dropped her bag in the bus, and rushed out to help him. She did not care if her shoes and skirt were covered with mud. She helped the uncle up and picked up his food, and belongings. I was stunned by her capability and quick reaction. The uncle was breathless, and knowing the uncle had no one else there with him, this angel took her stuffs from the bus and stayed with the uncle to ensure he was fine.

I am extremely touched and I applaud her for her sacrifices. Thumbs up Ms! She should be recognised for her good deeds and kindness.
