SCDF received the calls reporting flood at the above location at 1033hrs. SCDF responded and provided the following assistance:
Junction of Orchard Road/Paterson Road – SCDF dispatched 2 fire engines and assisted about 60 passengers from 2 SBS Transit double-decker buses and about 10 people from 6 cars stranded in their vehicles to safety. In some cases, SCDF personnel had to carry children out of the vehicles. None were injured.
Junction of Orchard Road/Orchard Link; and Cuscaden Road – SCDF dispatched 2 fire engines to these locations. Fire-fighters combed the area and found no one in need of assistance.
Liat Towers – SCDF dispatched 1 fire engine. Flooding at the basement 1. SCDF is presently using a pump to draw the water out. There are no reports of anyone in need of assistance.
Tong Building - SCDF dispatched 1 fire engine. SCDF is presently using a pump to draw the water out from the loading/unloading bay. There are no reports of anyone in need of assistance.
