To: PTE Hidayat Bin Jumain from Service Support Unit, HQ SCDF

Dear Sir, I wish to thank your Civil Defence Officer Pte Hidayat Bin Jumain - HQ SCDF for his act of honesty. On 7 July 2008, Time: 17:30Hrs I discovered that my wallet was missing when I was at Changi Hospital.

After searching around for half and hour and could not find it, my family headed straight to our neighbourhood police post to make a report. When we were on our way home we received a phone call from one of our family members informing us that there is a gentlemen knocking at our doors to return my lost wallet. I requested him to wait for my return which is less than 5mins.

Upon reaching home he handed to me my wallet with everything intact. There was nothing missing. He told us that he saw my wallet at a corner of the sports clinic counter at Changi Hospital. He took my wallet as there was no more patient around. I was one of the last patient there on that day. He told us that he saw my bank/ATM/Credit cards/receipts etc but most important of all, 2 I/C in my wallet (my daughter and myself) and my cash of about $200. He felt that he should try to return it to me asap as all these are important to me. With my I/C he found my address, came to my house to return it to me to ensure that I personally received it.

His immediate action has stopped all our worries and actions to be taken for all the lost cards and documents. We really appreciate what he did and his act of honesty. We were even more glad to know that my wallet falls into the hand of the SCDF officer and not someone else.

With regards,
Mdm Ng Daisy

To: MAJ Ivan Sin and CPT Yam Yeow Kiat from Civil Defence Academy

I would like to express my thanks to all the lecturers esp. Capt Yam and Major Ivan who had lectured in the 35th FSM Course. They have made it possible for me (inexperienced greenhorn who has made a career switch) to graduate. I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to Capt. Yam for his readiness & willingness in imparting his knowlege and experience, thus enabling us to understand his lectures! better (his lectures are never dull, always interesting - keep us awake). During the FSM course, I always look forward to Capt. Yam''s lectures. Once again thank you.

Dear Sgt Gani,

We thank you for bringing your team of SCDF officers to our centre on 25th Jun.

To: SSG Ismail Bin Khalid & team from Jurong Fire Station

Dear sir,

This 'thank you' e-mail has long been overdue, nevertheless, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for responding to our invitation promptly although it was last minute. Staff Sergeant Ismail led the team well and his professionalism was evident throughout the event. His team members were cooperative and represented a very positive image of the SCDF.

Today is the first day of our follow-up activity, to talk about 'My Ambition', and we are glad that the pupils, too inspire to be firemen, following the foot steps of their heroes.

Well done, guys! You have certainly made an impact and made us proud!

Thanks and regards,

Hi I'm Hasrin Jailani from Woodlands Wellington Football Club. I've attended one of your first aid course in Bukit Batok Fire Station. It was a very useful course and from my experience in attending the course, I found that it was a very good learning lesson for me. The instructors that conducted the course did a very good job in teaching us the way from the theory to the practical aspect of understanding the Basic of First Aid and CPR. It was a very knowledgeable course to attend to and i think more people should go and attend the course cos you won't know when the need for it arises in cases of emergency. I have to give credit to SSGT Roslie Dollah and the rest of the officers for making this course a good learning experience and a memorable one for me.

Thumbs up to the officers who are involved in this course.
Hope to see you again soon.

Best Regards,
Hasrin Jailani
