Incident at Gul Circle

At 1806hrs, SCDF received a call alerting us to the activation of the fire alarm at 151 Gul Circle. Upon receiving the notification, 10 Fire Engines, 1 Red Rhino, 8 Supporting Vehicles, I ambulance, with approximately 60 personnel were immediately dispatched to the 151 Gul Circle.

SCDF arrived at location within 4 minutes. The fire was seen burning intensely towards the rear portion of the factory. The factory measured about 200m by 100m.

SCDF fire-fighters immediately set up offensive fire fighting water jets to prevent the fire from spreading to the front of the factory. The factory deals with spare parts for textile machines. Fire was extinguished by 9 water jets and 1 foam jet. Fire was confined to the rear 1/3 portion of the factory. Fire was brought under control within 45 minutes. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
