Fire at No. 6 Woodlands Terrace

At 1151 hrs, SCDF received a call alerting us to fire on a vessel at No 23 Tuas Crescent. Upon receiving the notification, 3 Fire Engines, 8 Supporting Vehicles, 4 ambulances were immediately dispatched to the Kreuz Shipyard, No 23 Tuas Crescent.

SCDF arrived at the Kreuz Shipyard, No 23 Tuas Crescent within 6 minutes. Smoke was seen emitting from the bridge of a supply vessel. SCDF fire-fighters immediately set up 4 water jets to extinguish the fire, which was confined to the bridge measuring approximately 20m by 5m. Fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

The damage was confined to the bridge area. The accommodation, which was located a level below, sustained heat and smoke damages.

There were a total of 15 casualties conveyed by SCDF as a result of the incident. 6 casualties were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital, 6 casualties were conveyed to Alexandra while another 3 casualties were conveyed to National University Hospital. The casualties sustained burn injuries and smoke inhalation.
