Search Operation for drowning victim at Lower Seletar Reservoir

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) continued its search operation at Lower Seletar reservoir this morning at 0700 hrs.

A total of twenty SCDF officers from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) and Yishun Fire Station deployed two Amphibious Vehicles and one rescue dinghy to continue search operation at the site where the victim was last seen. PUB and the Naval Diving Unit (NDU) also assisted in the operation.

The body of the victim was found, at about 11.15am, approximately 50 metres from where the kayak overturned. The body was retrieved by SCDF DART officers and the victim was later pronounced dead by SCDF paramedic.
