Today at 9.40am, SCDF was activated to a road traffic accident involving a DHL delivery truck and a black Toyota Vios. This incident took place along Changi Coast Road in the direction towards Changi Village. Upon alert, one fire engine, one Red Rhino and one ambulance were immediately dispatched to the incident location. As a result of the collision, both drivers were trapped in their respective vehicle wreckages. SCDF personnel arrived shortly at 9.48am and quickly sprung into action. SCDF used hydraulic cutter and spreader and worked simultaneously to extricate the two trapped drivers. The rescue operation took ten minutes. The driver of the Toyota Vios was pronounced dead at site by SCDF paramedics. The driver of the delivery truck sustained injuries to his right leg and was immediately conveyed to Changi General Hospital in an SCDF ambulance. |
