3 incidents attended to by SCDF

Road Traffic Accident in front of Blk 2, Redhill Close

On 21 Apr 2007 at 4.40am, SCDF was activated to a road traffic accident involving a taxi and a lorry. This incident took place in front of Blk 2, Redhill Close. As a result of the accident, a male Chinese passenger in the front seat of the taxi was trapped in the vehicle wreckage.

SCDF rescuers extricated this passenger using hydraulic spreader and cutter within 15 minutes. The taxi driver, a male Chinese and the female passenger in the rear seat were slightly injured. All three were conveyed to Alexandra Hospital in 2 SCDF ambulances.

Road Traffic Accident at 31 Stadium Crescent

In a separate incident, SCDF was alerted to a case at 7.20am where a Toyota Corolla had crashed into a tree at 31 Stadium Crescent (near KFC). As a result of the accident, the male Chinese driver was trapped at the driver seat and the front of the vehicle was severely damaged.

Using hydraulic cutter, spreader and jack, SCDF extricated the victim from the car wreckage within 30 minutes. He was conscious throughout the rescue operations. He was subsequently conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Motorbike Fire at Jurong West St 41

SCDF was also alerted to a motorbike fire at 4.15am. This incident took place near Blk 481, Jurong West St 41. SCDF crew arrived at scene shortly upon activation and extinguished the fire with a hose-reel jet within 5 minutes.
