5 Casualties in Road Traffic Accident along Ayer Rajah Expressway

On Thursday, 19 th April 2007 at about 10:40pm, the SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident involving a taxi along Ayer Rajah Expressway in the direction towards Jurong near the Keppel exit.

SCDF responded to the incident with 2 ambulances. Upon arrival at the incident site, SCDF found that a taxi had crashed into the middle railing of the expressway. The SCDF paramedics immediately assessed the conditions of the 5 casualties who were already out of the taxi. The male taxi driver had suffered from lacerations on the forehead while his passengers, comprising 2 male and 2 female adults, had abrasions on their legs.

SCDF paramedics carried out immediate first aid on site and conveyed the casualties in 2 SCDF ambulances to the hospital. 2 were taken to the National University Hospital and 3 others to the Singapore General Hospital for further treatment. The conditions of the 5 casualties were monitored closely by the SCDF paramedics en route to the hospitals.
