This morning, at 0037hrs, SCDF was alerted to a call at Pasir Ris Fisherman Village to a reported case of drowning. SCDF responded to the location with 1 fire engine, 1 Red Rhino, 1 Amphibious Vehicle, 1 Ambulance, DART and 4 support vehicles. Arriving within 8 minutes, SCDF rescuers immediately deployed its Amphibious Vehicle to comb the shoreline and a Rescue Boat, with 4 divers, to search the area near to the shore where the victim was believed to have drowned. In addition, Police Coast Guard boats were also at scene conducting search operations around the reported vicinity. Despite the poor visibility, at about 0230hrs, SCDF DART divers spotted and retrieved a body of a male, Chinese subject, approximately 60 meters from where it was reported that someone had jumped into the sea. SCDF paramedics pronounced the subject dead at 0300hrs. |
