As an enhancement to the HazMat Transport Vehicle Tracking System (HTVTS), all HazMat transport vehicles were required to install an immobiliser device to enable the SCDF to remotely immobilise them in the event any violation is detected.

The SCDF’s HazMat Branch, formerly under the purview of the Operations Department, expanded into a full-fledged HazMat Department at HQ SCDF.

The concept of having Emergency Preparedness Validation Centres to assess residents’ awareness and knowledge on life-saving skills was introduced during the Marine Parade Emergency Preparedness Day. The Guest-of-Honour for the event was Senior Minister and MP for Marine Parade GRC, Mr Goh Chok Tong.

For the first time in the SCDF’s history, five SCDF Senior Officers were appointed as Honorary Aides-de-Camp to the President of Singapore at the State Room, Istana.
29 Jun 2007 The sixth edition of the Fire Code was launched.
25 Jul 2007 The SCDF was awarded the Sporting Singapore Inspiration Awards (SSIA) – Gold Award under the category of Sports Advocates.
1 Sep 2007 The online Individual Readiness Assessment (IREA) programme was launched on the SCDF website. The programme allows members of the public to assess their state of readiness against conventional and unconventional threats.
21 Sep 2007 The Crisis Volunteer Scheme was launched by Assoc Prof Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State (Law & Home Affairs) at the HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok Clubhouse, with 260 volunteers signing up for the scheme on that day.
28 Sep 2007 The SCDF’s Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) Auditing Programme was launched by Dr Choong May Ling, Deputy Secretary (Security) of MHA at the Home Team Academy.
24 Oct 2007 The ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) held its third ASEAN Regional Disaster Emergency Response Simulation Exercise (code-named ARDEX) at the SCDF Mandai Training Village.
26 Oct 2007 The 10th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management was held at The Rendezvous Hotel Singapore.
3 Nov 2007 Loyang Fire Post was operationalised.
20 Nov 2007
The SCDF was awarded the Singapore Innovation Class certification by Prof Cham Tao Soon, Chairman of the Singapore Quality Award Governing Council, during the 2007 Business Excellence Awards Winners event at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront.
27 Nov 2007 Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong paid his first visit to CDA where he was briefed on the SCDF’s operational capabilities and state-of-the-art training facilities.
