What is the objective of the fire station open house?
The fire station open house allows members of the public to
learn more about the SCDF, the roles and functions of its fire
stations as well as the capabilities of its firefighters.
-
When is the open house available and what is its duration?
All SCDF's fire stations, except Jurong Island Fire
Station, offer open house on every Saturday from 9.00 am to
11.00 am. The tour of the fire station generally takes about
an hour.
-
Do I need to make a booking to visit the open house
at the fire station?
Members of the public, comprising less than 10 persons in a
group, are welcomed to walk-in to any SCDF fire stations (except
Jurong Island Fire Station) during the said hours of the open
house. Visitors with 10 or more persons in a group are required
to make a prior booking to avoid overcrowding at the fire stations.
It is recommended that each group does not comprise over 50
persons at any one time due to the space constraint within the
fire stations.
-
What can visitors expect from the open house?
Visitors to the fire station open house will generally
experience the following in the one-hour programme (subject
to manpower resources and availability of appliances due to
the emergency role of the fire stations):
-
Briefing on roles and functions of a fire station, its
capabilities and its routine.
-
Briefing on operational capabilities of the appliances
in a fire station
-
Demonstration on equipment used by firefighters
-
Demonstration on sliding pole by firefighters
